When Did you Start dancing?
I started dancing 10 years ago in college through the NYU Swing Dance Club.
How did you start dancing?
I never danced before in my life!
During college orientation week, my dorm floormate convinced me to go to a beginner's class through the NYU Swing Dance Club. I didn't even want to go!
They taught us the basics, then took us out social dancing at a special place called the Frim Fram Jam. I was HOOKED. The music, the moves, the connection between dancers, and the joy on everybody's face - it was all so magical.
I've kept going since then - joining my college swing dance team, then moving to Las Vegas and joining the national champion Swing dance team, the Sin City Apostles, dancing with my other dance-half Mark Brunton - and here we are 10 years later!

What swing artist do you recommend new dancers check out?
What is one swing album every dancer should listen to?
At the Opera House (Live, 1957) by Ella Fitzgerald
HOw about one song every one needs to dance to at least once?
"I Diddle" by Dinah Washington
The dance clip that all new dancers need to see is...:
I have two!
The first is various Shim Sham variations - just a cool compilation showing how one routine is interpreted so many ways by different dancers!
The second is the great Dawn Hampton sharing the importance of feeling the music when you're dancing!
