How did you start dancing?
Growing up I had always been the one at parties with their butt superglued to their chair while everyone else was on the dance floor, or I was being dragged onto the dance floor against my will. I absolutely hated dancing because 1) I didn't know how and 2) I was so awkward and shy.
Little did I know that one day dancing would change my life forever.
In 2017, one of my New Year's resolutions was to learn something new. Around February of that year, one of my friends and fellow swing dancer, Alyssa, posted on social media that a local ballroom studio was promoting a Groupon deal for a month of dance classes. I took this as my sign to finally learn how to dance. I decided on swing dancing classes because I had seen videos of it on YouTube and it was the most fun dance I'd ever seen. I bought the Groupon and on March 6, 2017, I attended my first class, and I was instantly hooked.
After two weeks of classes, Alyssa suggested I should come out dancing that Friday night at this dive bar called Boomers. This is where I found the amazing Swing Dance Vegas community, and the rest is history.
